Fight Hunger Bowl: Brigham Young vs Washington Pick
The Washington Huskies enter the Fight Hunger Bowl against the BYU Cougars with several impressive records. Washington is looking to win their fifth straight bowl game and get nine wins for the first time since 200. The problem is they are going to have to do it without their head coach. Steve Sarkisian took a job with the USC Trojans and quarterbacks coach Marques Tuiasosopo will be the head man for this bowl game. BYU will look to take advantage of this and get a big win.
Fight Hunger Bowl: Brigham Young at Washington Preview
The college football bowl odds for this game opened up with the Huskies listed as (-3) point favorites in this bowl game, despite all of the turmoil surrounding the team. They are still getting the attention of the public college football betting fans. Over 67 percent of bets are coming in on the Huskies. The point spread has yet to move, but it will be interesting to see if it does leading up to kickoff.
Bishop Sankey, who has rushed for 1,775 yards and 18 touchdowns will lead the Huskies offense that can put up some points. Senior quarterback Keith Price will also be under center to try and provide leadership to this team in a moment where they need it the most. The Huskies are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 non-conference games, 7-2 ATS in their last 9 games following a loss against the spread and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games in December.
BYU can also move the ball. BYU averages 274.6 yards rushing with dual-threat quarterback Taysom Hill (28 total touchdowns) and running back Jamaal Williams leading the way. The Cougars are 2-7 against the spread (ATS) in their last 9 games after accumulating more than 200 yards rushing in their previous game, 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games after accumulating less than 170 yards passing in their previous game and 4-10 ATS in their last 14 games following a straight up win. They may not have the trends in their favor but they do have a top-25-scoring defense that should come in handy in this big bowl game. They will have to get some key players back in the lineup as linebacker Spencer Hadley (knee), nose tackle Eathyn Manumaleuna (shoulder) and cornerback Robertson Daniel (neck) are all suffering from injuries.
Fight Hunger Bowl: Brigham Young at Washington Pick
The Washington Huskies come into this game without their leader and without an identity after losing their head coach. That will play a big role in this game as the Huskies lose their disciplined approach and this bowl game to the Cougars.
