The Indianapolis Colts are the team to beat in the AFC South, but outside of that the Texans could compete although they are technically rebuilding after a bad year. The Tennessee Titans and the Jacksonville Jaguars do not look to be difficult to face this season, so the door is open for the Texans.
Although the Texans were rumored to trade their top pick, they used it and the result could be a demanding defense this season. Selecting Jadeveon Clowney first overall was the Texans’ best move this offseason. He’ll help the Texans’ pass rush, and they’ll use him in a hybrid fashion, beginning at outside linebacker, that will best suit his talents. J.J. Watt will also benefit from this pick and the Texans could be a tough team to beat if they are able to get to great quarterbacks on their schedule, most notably Andrew Luck.
The problem for this team will be on offense. They traded Matt Schaub and now will be looking to replace the quarterback to start the season. Although it has not been announced, it looks as though journeyman Ryan Fitzpatrick will get the nod for the Texans.
The Texans need to quit playing QB games and name Ryan Fitzpatrick their starter says Jeffri Chadiha. READ: http://t.co/zEBunZXy7P

This is just the start of their problems on offense. They let running back Ben Tate go to another team and they are in an ugly showdown with veteran wide receiver Andre Johnson. Johnson will be skipping the Texans’ mandatory minicamp for three days this week. Johnson now will be eligible to be fined for $70,000 in fines if he misses all three days, as expected. He already has missed all of the team’s voluntary minicamp dates up until now. His contract makes it almost impossible to trade the disgruntled super star and there is no telling what kind of effort he will put forth when he takes to the field.
The Texans are not as bad as they played last season and they could have a decent season, but there are just too many changes. They win early but stumble late and finish in a disappointing third place in the weak AFC South.
